Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) is a Statutory Body established by Act No. 9 of 2019. It has a broad mandate of:
Procurement of medicines and medical supplies;
Storage of medicines and medical supplies; and
Distribution of medicines and medical supplies to all public health facilities in Zambia.
The Vision of ZAMMSA is to be “a world-class supply chain system of essential medicines and medical supplies for a healthy and productive Nation”.
To enhance our services, we are seeking to employ in the following positions:
5. SENIOR OFFICER – DISTRIBUTIONS (1)
Main Job Purpose
To supervise and undertake the forecasting and quantification for medicines and medical supplies to respond to national commodity needs and facilitate procurement planning.
Main Responsibilities:
Supervises and undertakes periodically, the development, implementation and review of policies, strategies and guidelines in order to ensure adherence to statutory provisions, standards and industry best practices.
Supervises and undertakes effectively, the development, review and implementation strategic plans for outbound logistics operations in order to optimize distribution strategies, minimizes lead times and meet client expectations.
Supervises and undertakes regularly, the evaluation and optimization distribution routes and warehouse locations in order to streamline distribution processes reduce costs and increase the on-time delivery performance.
Supervises and undertakes effectively, order fulfillment processes (including order picking, packing, and shipping) in order to ensure accuracy and timeliness of order processing to meet customer expectations.
Supervises and undertakes efficiently, carrier selection, routing, and scheduling in order to reduce transit times, minimizes freight costs, and ensures on-time deliveries.
Supervises and undertakes effectively, the implementation of quality control measures to ensure product integrity and compliance with industry standards and safeguard the Agency against legal liabilities, and reputational risks.
Supervises and undertakes timely, the tracking and analyses of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery times, fill rates, and order accuracy in order to facilitate data-driven decision-making, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Supervises and undertakes effectively, the provision of guidance, coaching, mentorship and training in order to foster a foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, productivity and continuous learning
Supervises and undertakes effectively, the development of work plans and implementation of the Performance Management System (PMS) in order to monitor and evaluate individual performance.
Supervises and undertakes effectively, human and other material resources in order to facilitate achievement of departmental objectives.

8. Academic qualification and work experience required. Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
Bachelors’ Degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Management, Commerce or equivalent. Experience in Supply Chain systems is an added advantage.
Must be a member of a relevant professional body.
Minimum of 4 years’ relevant work experience in a similar role.
