The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), a Statutory Body established by the Government of the Republic of Zambia under Section 3 of the Civil Aviation Authority Act No. 7 of 2012 to provide for the regulation and promotion of Civil Aviation in Zambia, is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons who are ambitious, innovative, energetic and performance driven to fill the vacancy of Inspector Flight Operations – Helicopter Pilot.
The Civil Aviation Authority is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Inspector Flight Operations – Helicopter Pilot.
JOB PURPOSE
To Supervise the regulations of General Aviation, commercial operations and aerial works, in order to ensure flight safety.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The job holders will be required to develop, maintain and implement ICAO Annexe 6, Parts I, II and III, Standards and Recommended Practices, in particular the following:
• Effectively undertake the regulations for General Aviation, commercial operations and aerial works to ensure safety of the travelling public.
• Develop regulations for non-commercial operations including RPAS.
• Effectively undertakes the regulations for issuance of ROC, and special authorizations for RPAS in order to meet national requirements.
• Effectively oversees the approval and monitoring of the aircraft operations safety management systems in order to minimize hazards and risks in aircraft and RPAS operations.
• Effectively oversees the implementation of performance management systems in order enhance individual and organizational efficiency.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
a) Minimum Primary/Secondary Education:
Full-Form V /Grade 12 Certificate with a minimum of five (5) “O” Levels with credits in English and Mathematics.
b) Minimum Vocational/Professional Qualifications:
Commercial Pilots License (Helicopters)
c) Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:
3 years in relevant field.
d) Other Skills/Attributes
• Interpersonal Skills
• Computer literate
• Integrity
