LIAS University College (Formerly Lusaka Institute of Applied Sciences Ltd) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registrar to join our dynamic team. In this senior-management role, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of human resources and administration within the organisation.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Human Resources Management:

  • Lead the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures.
  • Conduct comprehensive job analysis for vacancies and manage the recruitment and onboarding process.
  • Oversee staff welfare, development, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
  • Analyze HR data and maintain accurate personnel records.
  • Manage human resource budgets and ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations.

Administrative and Logistical Support:

  • Provide effective administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the college.
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets for efficient resource allocation.
  • Oversee the maintenance of college infrastructure and equipment.
  • Manage and maintain key college databases.
  • Oversee college transportation needs, including budgeting and vehicle maintenance.

Leadership and Communication:

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the HR and administrative teams.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration across all departments.
  • Proactively identify and resolve administrative and operational challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role. (OR)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a management role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a Registrar or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of human resource management principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Membership in the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) with a valid practicing license (highly preferred).
