Job Purpose
The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:
- Obtaining medical history, make initial physical examination and efficiently document details of provisional diagnosis, suggested primary investigations and treatment plan in the patient’s files.
- Managing patient in full discussion and consultation with senior members and Consultants.
- Participating in counselling patients, control, and prevention of diseases / epidemics within the company operations to ensure increased productivity.
- Documenting all complications observed and plan discharge and follow up plans.
- Monitoring patients progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Conducting Clinical Ward Rounds for presentation to Senior Team Members or Consultants.
- Performing On Call duties.
- Attending to critical and non-critical patients, institute emergency treatment and seek senior opinion.
- Carrying out everything medically required to sustain life before senior support arrives.
- Handling all cases timely and efficiently.
- Performing minor surgical and medical procedures.
- Conducting First Aid lecturing, Orientation and Examination.
- Conducting medical surveillance programs.
- Performing duties with a degree of cost-effectiveness by using the most cost efficient and effective treatment therapies with the best treatment outcomes.
- Contributing to revenue generation for the Department.
- Training and mentoring Internee doctors, nurses, and Paramedics in respective departments to enhance quality service delivery.
- Orienting oneself and participate in the development and implementation of the Quality, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems and other interventions aimed at enhancing safety, environmental adherence.
- Following up all industrial incidents, including injuries with outmost urgency ensuring that all industrial injuries are categorized in line with existing statutory and company guidelines.
- Adhering to all other assignments that are given that are lawful and fair.
To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- BSc HB, MB ChB or its equivalent.
- Full HPCZ Registration.
- Valid HPCZ Practicing License.
- Two years post internship.
- Demonstrable understanding of relevant legislation.
- Demonstrable ability to model teamwork behaviours; team building skills.
- Interest and ability to lead and inspire individuals and teams and to coach and develop staff.
- Demonstrable successes at your level.
The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
