Description:

JOB PURPOSE
To provide support to the Portfolio Analyst in the management and analysis of investment portfolios within the unit

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in analyzing financial data, market trends, and economic indicators to provide insights into investment opportunities or risks.
  2. Assist in conducting research on companies, industries, and market trends is a key aspect of the role. This may involve gathering information from financial statements, industry reports, and other relevant sources to help the portfolio Analyst make informed investment decisions.
  3. Assist with tracking the performance of investment portfolios and individual securities.
  4. Assist in generating performance reports, evaluating the success of investment strategies, and identifying areas for improvement.
  5. Assist in analyzing and assessing the risk associated with different investments
  6. Assist in identifying potential risks and suggesting risk mitigation strategies.
  7. Assist in collaborating with the portfolio analyst to determine the optimal allocation of assets within a portfolio. This involves considering the risk tolerance, investment goals, and market conditions.
  8. Communicate findings and insights to the Portfolio analyst effectively. This may involve preparing reports, presentations, and fiving updates.
  9. Be familiar with financial modelling, data analytics tools, and portfolio management software.
  10. Assist in adhering to regulatory requirements and ensuring that investment activities comply with internal policies and industry regulations.
  11. Assist the Portfolio Analyst in maintaining compliance records and reports.
  12. Any other duties assigned by the Portfolio Analyst

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Minimum level of academic qualifications required to perform effectively in the role

• GCE or Equivalent with Credits or Better in Five Subjects, Mathematics and English Included.
• Diploma in Economics/Finance/Business Administration or business-related fields

Minimum level of professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role
