Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Community Relations Manager to join the versatile Lumwana Management team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the business social license is improved by proactively engaging with local community, stakeholders, to mitigate social impacts and sharing the benefits of mining to leave a sustainable legacy.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead and direct the corporate social responsibility (CSR) team to deliver on business social license to operate.
- Build transparent and respectful local stakeholder engagement with community, stakeholders, and government.
- Manage business social obligations for mutual long-term success.
- Achieve business social risk mitigation through consultation and community projects.
- Improve public and stakeholder trust and confidence, locally through effective communications strategy.
- Develop and steer a local content strategy in the community.
- Maintain collaboration with local authority to manage issues arising from population influx.
- Develop and implement economic projects for communities to sustain themselves without being dependent on the mine.
- Manage community impacts through corporate social responsibility programs.
- Contribute and implement the Lumwana Expansion Program including RAP study.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Degree in Social Sciences/Business Development Studies
- Minimum of 10 years’ work experience preferably in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt and work in a culturally diverse environment.
- Agile in Project Management, Initiating and implementation of community-based projects.
- Good communications skills, Multilingual an advantage.
- Confident in incident /accident investigations and prowess in resolving Community grievances.
