Project title: EU Support to the National Land Audit in Zambia
The EU support to the National Land Audit project aims to improve land administration and management in Zambia. The project focuses on (1) improving the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI), updating it with information that is publicly available and accessible, and, producing land cover, land use maps, and compiling other thematic maps at the National level, (2) making available and accessible key results of the National Land Audit, (3) testing and validate Innovative National Land Audit methodologies, and (4) providing guidance for shaping a full National Land Audit implementation and forming a post audit action plan.
Job title: SNKE NSDI -information portal
Title of assignment: Implementation of the NSDI Information Portal
Objectives:
The NKE will support the implementation of the new NSDI platform (NSDI v2), which will be full based on open-source platforms and tools. The NKE will be responsible for the implementation of the Information Portal component of the NSDI platform in accordance with the NSDI Stakeholder Requirements Specification. The assignment will include various tasks to complete and make the Information Portal fully operational.
SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES
Under Activity A.1.1.3: Upgrading the NSDI platform – Development of NSDI version 2
1. Select and configure appropriate CMS
2. Design User Interface
3. Create and populate content
4. Test the Information Portal
5. Publish the Information Portal
6. Provide trainings
7. Prepare documentation
8. Deliver the presentation
Requirements:
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technologies, Computer Science or similar;
- At least 5 years of proven experience in developing websites using open-source CMS;
- Programming skills in PHP (or Python), JavaScript;
- Knowledge and experience with front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS);
- Knowledge and experience working with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular);
- Knowledge and experience with designing databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL);
- Solid understanding and experience in creating responsive UI/UX design.
- Basic system administration skills to install and configure a web-server and DBMS;
- Fluency in English (written and spoken);
- Good organizational, coordination and reporting skills.
