VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: MINE TRAINER – EXCAVATORS/SHOVELS

Reporting to the Senior Mine Trainer, you will be responsible for conducting Excavator and Shovel trainings, assessments, and implementation of a comprehensive training program designed to ensure all Excavator/Shovel Operators are given necessary skills both in the field and simulator environment to achieve excellence in machine operations.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Train and assess Excavator and Shovel Operators.
- Actively promote, monitor, and enforce compliance of personnel with safe work practices.
- Identifying the risks in their work area and using the correct controls.
- Reporting to the Supervisor immediately any actual or potential unsafe conditions or activities, mishaps, incidents, accidents, injuries, or illnesses in the workplace.
- Managing equipment, coach and mentor team members to emulate good standards
- Manage costs through efficient training of employees by providing expertise, resources and services.
- Assist in the identification of the training needs and work with the Mining Training Coordinator, Mining Supervisors, and Coordinators to manage and implement relevant training programmes.
- Produce highly efficient and productive Excavator and Shovel Operators.
- Assisting with incident investigations as and when necessary
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Must have Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Certificate IV in training/Assessor or any other relevant field
- Significant experience (5 years) operating mining equipment
- Certificate of competence in Excavators and Shovels
- Proficient in Microsoft office suit applications
- Experience in training and development of operators in all technical operational disciplines of open pit mining operations.
- Able to clearly demonstrate the aptitude to drive a light vehicle and hold a current Zambian drivers’ license or be able to obtain one.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English
