Mayiko Group is in existence in Zambia since late 2022 with Mining Sector as a primary target industry and Base Metals like Copper, Cobalt, Manganese and Iron as Primary / Target Minerals.

1. CONSTRUCTION MANAGER (X1) – LUSAKA
2. Reporting to: HEAD OF EXPLOATION/ CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
Job Purpose:
The job holder will be responsible for oversighting of the Construction / Civil department and performance of all general civil works functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, design, develop, create and maintain all types of construction projects related to mining industry, in a safe, timely and sustainable manner.
- Conduct on site investigations and analyses data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
- Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
- Assess potential risks, BOQ of materials and costs.
- Resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies and keep the management updated timely.
- Oversee and mentor staff under Civil works.
- To Liaise with a various stakeholders including but not limited to Chief/s, City Councils, Villagers and any other govt. authority.
- Handing over the finished structures and services for use.
- Monitor progress and compile reports in project status.
- Manage budget and purchase equipment/materials as per company guidelines.
- Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required.
Other Required skill sets
- Should be well versed with AUTOCAD
- Should be able to analyse engineering drawings, specifications, BOQ, MEP works, Fabrications job in general
- Agile persuasion skill with strict confidentiality and assertiveness.
- Polite, professional, and time conscious with punctual in written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail in both written documents and verbal communications.
- Ability to maintain appropriate work and personal boundaries while preserving company culture.
- Efficient and thorough record-keeping and organization skills.
- Responsive and proactive aptitude in execution of duties.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately.
Qualification and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Proven experience of more than 5 years as an Construction Manager.
- Hands on Experience in working at Exploration / Mining Site.
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Team player
- Good time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
