Job Purpose
The Tanker Driver will be of delivering fuel products such as diesel, gasoline, to service stations or other locations where they are needed. Take charge of transporting large quantities of fuel from one location to another. Driving tankers to deliver petrol and diesel both within and outside Zambia. Making sure that the ambience is safe and sound and in agreement with the safety plans and program
Summary of Key Responsibilities;
- Supplying fuel oil to the customers from huge and small tanker trucks
- Agreeing to the protection rules and policies in transporting, handling and supplying procedures and methods of fuel oil
- Comprising dangerous substantial promotional materials and reporting the supplies head on a regular basis
- Keeping the written accounts of the work done everyday and offering revenue bills to the customers.
- Making sure that customers are contented and administrating his company after achieving seniority.
- Load and unload fuel for industrial and marine customers
- Properly track and document fuel volumes
- Complete in-house paperwork per load
- Report any issues or incidents to dispatch
- Inspect truck before and after trip
- Maintaining accurate records of deliveries and routes for tax purposes
- Inspecting delivery trucks for mechanical problems and maintenance needs
- Following all local traffic laws and regulations to avoid accidents and citations
- Following company procedures to ensure safe handling of hazardous materials during transfer and storage
- Operating vehicles to transport fuel from a refinery or distribution facility to retail

- Maintaining proper inventory levels of fuel at retail outlets using automated systems that track the amount of fuel on hand
- Loading and unloading fuel onto delivery trucks using automated equipment such as forklifts or hoses connected to tanker trucks
- Following safety procedures to prevent injuries to oneself and others while working with machinery or fueling vehicles
Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required
- Any Technical and Transport Related Qualification
- Must have a Valid Technical/Commercial Driving License.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years working a Tanker Driver with the
reputable Oil Marketing Companies in Zambia and Southern Africa. - Must have a clean driving record as a Fuel Tanker Driver
- Should demonstrate a strong track record of safe driving and adhere to all transportation regulations
- Must be attentive and have good observation skills
- Must have good communication, monetary and time management skills
- Must be patient and willing to adjust to different circumstances
- Must be physically and mentally strong
- Must have a thorough understanding of all applicable safety regulations
and standards. This includes knowing how to properly load and unload
their cargo as well as how to operate their vehicle safely while on the
road.
