Job Purpose
The Marketing Manager will be responsible of developing, implementing and managing all branding, publicity and digital marketing activities and this will include maintaining positive working relationships with media outlets and their representatives. Be responsible for uncovering consumer insights and delivering innovative marketing campaigns. Take charge if generating strategies that grow market share and brand’s reputation, improve customer experience and drive growth in Zambia and new markets in the region.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all digital marketing activities
- Coordinate and participate in promotional activities and trade shows, working with developers, advertisers, and production managers, to market products and services;
- Develop pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction.
- Designing quarterly campaigns and initiatives that drive the achievement of set Commercial KPIs; recognizing the impact each campaign has on our annual targets and budget.
- Collaborating with the Head of Sales & Marketing and Central team to craft and structure integrated marketing campaigns to build awareness and drive sales on a quarterly basis.
- Lead the creation of integrated marketing campaigns, setting budgets for specific lines items within the campaign plan.
- Responsible for refining customer segment definitions and ensuring all Marketing initiatives align with generated architypes.
- With help from the Procurement department, source and select competitive vendors in events management, printing, outdoor advertising , Radio and TV advert production e.t.c
- Developing pricing strategies with the goal of maximizing profits or shares of the market
- Manage and monitor the marketing team in the implementation of the set marketing plans
- Prepare and provide regular verbal and written reports including marketing plan summary, competitive analysis
- Develop and implement customer relations program that includes, but is not limited to, regular customer meetings, newsletter, personal calls and visits, customized marketing plans and sales incentives.
- Must understand and interpret shifts in customer demographics and competition, identifying risks and crafting appropriate responses.
- Create ambitious but achievable marketing campaigns, promotions and initiatives that drive sales, positive customer repayment behavior and brand equity with minimum guidance from the Head of Department.
- Collaborate with Customer Experience & Sales team to develop marketing strategy to ensure both Service Centers and field team reflect the strength of the brand.
- Design the marketing budgets for Campaigns and controls costs; ensuring the team follows approved processes in supplier engagement and procurement of marketing services/elements even as they approve payments within the pre-set campaign budget.
- Responsible for Quality Control in the production Marketing Communication elements and branded apparel.
- Review and approve output of Campaigns Specialist, Trade Marketing Associate and Digital Marketing Associate within the campaign plan and escalates for final approval of main campaign elements to Head of Department.
- Ensure stakeholder engagement, both internal and external; represents the company in external stakeholder engagements and the department in internal conversations.
- Overseeing product development or monitoring trends that indicate the need for new products and services
- Evaluate the effectiveness of key marketing activities in terms of sales results, consumer response and publicity value
- Conduct and evaluate marketing primary and secondary research, as needed, to evaluate product and services effectiveness
- Planning and managing marketing promotions and campaigns
- Take the lead in the development, administration and maintenance of the complete, yearly allocated marketing budget, including non-event and non-advertising related items.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Marketing /PR/Communications or related field
- Must have a minimum of 5-6 years work experience in Marketing, Branding and Communications
- Must have proven experience of 3+ years in Campaign planning and delivery
- Must have Marketing, Branding and Communications work experience from the FMCG or Telecoms sector
- Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
- Must have strong understanding of marketing techniques such as writing and sending media releases and posting information on websites.
- Must have a good understanding of the Zambian media landscape and customer demographics.
- Must have good knowledge of budget designing and tracking
