ICT OFFICER (GRADE SPF3)
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The ICT Officer is responsible for the overall planning, management, and support of the ICT environment and to plan, manage, and provide quality, reliable, and modern ICT services that support the operations of the Scheme and contribute to overall efficiency, productivity, and attainment of the Scheme’s objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide first-line support for core systems.
- Provide first-line support for auxiliary systems.
- Offer face-to-face IT support for staff.
- Plan schedules for maintenance of hardware and updating of software.
- Resolve hardware, software, and networking issues for computers and peripherals.
- Prepare new hires’ computers with all necessary hardware and software components, and create their profiles (install printers, map drives, set up Outlook email, bookmarks, etc.).
- Log and keep good records of inventory and computer supplies.
- Support the operation of computer peripherals such as scanners, printers, switches, wireless routers, UPS, etc.
- Support conference room and AV equipment (conference phones, video conference systems, etc.).
- Provide technical advice in terms of specifications when acquiring new devices.
- Develop and update IT processes and procedures, and ensure they are properly documented.
- Liaise with other service providers.
- Ensure disaster recovery plan is operational at all times.
- Provide quarterly reports on the operations of the unit.
- Update or install antivirus on machines and network.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels, with credit or better in Mathematics and English Language.
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience in an ICT position.
