Job Scope
The Data Analyst will lead data analytics and quality control initiatives to maintain the highest quality data outputs and visualizations in support of international tech startups and SMEs.
Skills:
1. **Data Collection & Cleaning:** Ability to gather, assess, and cleanse data from various sources.
2. **Statistical Analysis:** Proficiency in applying statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful business insights.
3. **Data Visualization:** Skill in creating clear visual representations of complex data using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib.
4. **Programming:** Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
5. **Database Management:** Knowledge of database systems like SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL and the ability to write and execute complex SQL queries.
6. **Machine Learning:** Understanding of basic machine learning algorithms and their applications.
7. **Data Warehousing:** Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools like Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
8. **Spreadsheet Tools:** Proficiency in spreadsheet tools like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data manipulation and preliminary analysis
9. **Critical Thinking:** Ability to approach problems logically and make well-informed decisions.
10. **Attention to Detail:** Ensuring accuracy and reliability in all tasks.
11. **Communication:** Ability to convey complex data findings in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.
12. **Problem-solving:** Skill in identifying issues and determining solutions quickly and effectively.
13. **Collaboration:** Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
1. **Educational Background:** Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
2. **Relevant Experience:** Two years of experience in data analysis or a related field might be required
3. **Certifications:** Certifications in Microsoft’s Data Analyst Associate, Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, or others related to specific tools
4. **Portfolio:** Demonstrated experience through a portfolio of past projects, showcasing the ability to derive insights from data.
