Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
-Posting journal entries
-Maintaining general ledger accounts
-Reconciling bank statements
-Processing invoices and payments
-Managing accounts payable and receivable
Financial Reporting:
-Preparing financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement)
-Analyzing financial data to identify trends and potential issues
-Creating budget reports and forecasts
Compliance and Auditing:
-Performing internal controls and audits
-Preparing tax returns
Financial Analysis:
-Providing insights and recommendations to management based on financial data
-Cost analysis
-Variance analysis.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
-Education: Grade 12 Certificate, Diploma in Accounting or related field
-Software Proficiency: Expertise in accounting software (e.g., Pastel)
-Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data and identify trends
-Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and meticulousness in data entry and record keeping
Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication to explain complex financial information to stakeholders
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
Ethical Conduct: Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information
Work Environment:
Typically office-based
May involve collaboration with other departments within a company.
