POSITION: ACCOUNTS CLERK – ADMINISTRATION
Department: FINANCE
Location: LUSAKA, ZAMBIA
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To offer and provide support to the Finance Department for all day to day activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive invoices from suppliers and ensure timely processing of payments
- Capture supplier invoices in Accounts payable module as and when received
- Reconcile bill payments and ensure all requisitions are paid weekly
- Reconcile non bankable ledger accounts
- Review weekly point of sale expense reports from the stores and ensure that the correct support documents are attached and complete
- Audit cash and non-cash deposits from the stores to ensure all cash receipted is deposited timely
- Assist stores with any queries relating to cash and non-cash deposits
- Assist in the reconciliation of suppliers accounts
- Assist in the preparation of month end reporting journals
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely execution
- Any other adhoc departmental activities as assigned by supervisor
JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12/ Secondary School certificate with English and Mathematics
- Retail Experience would be an added advantage
- Computer literacy-MS Word, Excel knowledge
- English: Speaking, Reading and Writing (compulsory)
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
- ZICA technician or any equivalent Accounting qualification
- Fully paid-up member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
- Core Skills needed: Honesty, Passion & Resourcefulness;
- Good Interpersonal communication skills; attention to details; self-motivated, stress management, problem assessment, Planning & Organisation.
