Job description:

The job holder purpose is execution of load shifting and rigging functions and activities according to established standard procedures to ensure installations, inspections, examinations, tests and maintenance works are carried out as expected in order to achieve copper and gold metals within budget and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function are adhered to.
  • Safety compliance: Uphold safety standards according to company policy and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Ensure that all parts and working gear, whether fixed or movable, including the anchoring and fixing appliances of all lifting machinery and apparatus used as, or forming part of the equipment of a mine and all foundations in or to which any such appliances are anchored or fixed shall be of good construction, suitable material, adequate strength and free from patent defects and shall be maintained in good working order.
  • Ensure the safety of the team members while performing daily activities.
  • Ensure lifting equipment and tools are available, inspected and well maintained.
  • Assist in the loading and offloading of various loads on and off the truck and to the job site
  • Coordinating with the other team members when assembling various equipment machinery
  • Adhering to the health, safety and company standards at all times
  • Using appropriate rigging gears when handling heavy equipment machinery
  • Report all safety concerns and issues to management

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade Twelve (12) Certificate.
  • Minimum Craft Certificate in Rigging or equivalent
  • A Full and Practising Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
  • Computer literate.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Load Shifting and Rigging jobs/tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute works and able with the team effectively.
  • Prior experience in rigging or similar supervisory roles within the Engineering industry.
