The Judiciary

The Judiciary is an independent arm of Government established under Part VIII of the Constitution (Amendment) No. 2 of 2016. Its mission is “To administer justice to all in an independent, impartial, competent and timely manner”. In order to improve service delivery. TThe Judiciaryhe Judiciary is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to be considered for the following positions:

Assistant Librarian (JSS 05) X Four (4) (ANNUAL BASIC SALARY OF K68,142.00) to be based in Lusaka and Kitwe.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidates will be required to report to the Chief Librarian and will be responsible for the following;

1. Undertakes effectively the filling of books and other library materials in order to facilitate the maintenance and updating of libraries in the Judiciary:

2. Undertakes effectively the collection and scanning of documentation in order to facilitate the updating of content for the e-library:

3. Undertakes timely distribution of Acts, Gazette Notices, and News Papers in order to ensure information flow:

4. Undertakes effectively the issuing of books and reference materials to authorized users in order to ensure accountability, and

5. Undertakes periodically the inclusion of the amendments into Volumes of the Law of the Republic of Zambia in all Judiciary Libraries in order to keep them current and complete.

MAXIMUM VOCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full Form V/Grade 12 School Certificate with (5) Credits or better including English.
  • Certificate in Library and Information Studies or equivalent
  • Must be a member of Zambia Library Association.
