Position: Credit Officer (1 Position)
BridgeTrust Finance is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Officer to support our credit operations and ensure excellent client service throughout the loan process.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Meet with clients interested in taking out a loan and provide necessary guidance through the application process.
- Collect and review financial documentation to assess clients’ creditworthiness.
- Maintain and monitor loan application records and manage renewals.
- Follow up with clients and monitor the full loan application process.
- Achieve performance targets agreed with management.
- Operate in compliance with BridgeTrust Finance regulations and policies.
- Prepare and submit regular financial and performance reports to the CEO.
- Consolidate monthly deduction schedules and ensure timely submission in accordance with stipulated deadlines.
- Prepare and calculate client statement balances accurately and provide regular account updates upon request or as required.
- Collaborate with marketing to execute promotional strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with all loan products and services offered by the company.
Debt Recovery Duties:
- Review the company debtor list.
- Contact customers and inform them of their overdue bills.
- Advise customers on their payment options and suggest methods of payment.
- Negotiate suitable payment plans.
- Maintain customer payment records in our Loan Management System.
- Write notice warnings to customers when payments are not being made.
- Respond to customer queries professionally and promptly.
- Understand and apply payment plan and debt recording procedures.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly collections reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12 School Certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a related business field
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
Technical Competencies:
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- Effective team player with excellent public relations abilities
- Strong presentation skills with logical and structured thinking
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; capable of preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
