Position: Credit Officer (1 Position)

BridgeTrust Finance is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Officer to support our credit operations and ensure excellent client service throughout the loan process.

Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Meet with clients interested in taking out a loan and provide necessary guidance through the application process.
  • Collect and review financial documentation to assess clients’ creditworthiness.
  • Maintain and monitor loan application records and manage renewals.
  • Follow up with clients and monitor the full loan application process.
  • Achieve performance targets agreed with management.
  • Operate in compliance with BridgeTrust Finance regulations and policies.
  • Prepare and submit regular financial and performance reports to the CEO.
  • Consolidate monthly deduction schedules and ensure timely submission in accordance with stipulated deadlines.
  • Prepare and calculate client statement balances accurately and provide regular account updates upon request or as required.
  • Collaborate with marketing to execute promotional strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with all loan products and services offered by the company.

Debt Recovery Duties:

  • Review the company debtor list.
  • Contact customers and inform them of their overdue bills.
  • Advise customers on their payment options and suggest methods of payment.
  • Negotiate suitable payment plans.
  • Maintain customer payment records in our Loan Management System.
  • Write notice warnings to customers when payments are not being made.
  • Respond to customer queries professionally and promptly.
  • Understand and apply payment plan and debt recording procedures.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly collections reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a related business field
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective team player with excellent public relations abilities
  • Strong presentation skills with logical and structured thinking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; capable of preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
