Call for Procurement Experts, Zambia

DT Global invites applications for the following positions for the Zambia Compact: Senior Procurement Specialist, Procurement Specialist, and Procurement and Office Assistant. The Compact/Program is funded by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), an independent U.S. Government foreign aid agency, and the Republic of Zambia. The Program is expected to focus on strengthening physical, economic, and social infrastructure in road, finance and agricultural sectors. The expected duration of the Program is for a period of six years, and all positions are based in Lusaka, Zambia.
Senior Procurement Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Procurement Specialist will plan, manage, execute, and coordinate tasks related to the procurement of goods, services, and civil works for the Program. The Senior Procurement Specialist will provide advice on the procurement activities and provide contract administration services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum three years of experience working as a procurement, supply chain or logistics professional.
- Experience working with international development institutions’ procurement guidelines and procedures.
- Good understanding of best practices in procurement procedures.
- Experience in the development of procurement documents, i.e. bidding documents, evaluation reports, contracts, etc.
- Prior contract administration experience.
- Experience working on projects dealing with road as well as finance and agricultural sectors, is desirable.
- Proactive and quick learner; demonstrated ability to work on a team. Strong communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in procurement, business, law, economics, finance, or public administration.
- Fluency in English – reading, writing, and speaking.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint. Prior experience with SAP system is an added advantage.
Procurement and Office Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities: The Procurement and Office Assistant will provide secretarial support to the Procurement Agent Team. The Assistant will carry out day-to-day administration activities for smooth functioning of the project office and maintain petty cash.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum five years of experience in office and administration support activities
- Previous procurement experience is desirable
- Basic knowledge of banking and cash management activities
- Strong communication skills and good team player
- Bachelor’s degree
- Good in English – reading, writing, and speaking
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Prior experience with SAP system is an added advantage.
