Will be Responsible for: Leading the Technical Department and making all executive decisions with regards to the telecommunications infrastructure and technological interests of INFRATEL. He/she will be responsible for outlining INFRATEL’s technological vision, implementing technology strategies, and ensuring that the technological resources are aligned with INFRATEL’s business needs.
Minimum Qualification: Full Grade 12 Certificate, Master of Science Degree in Electrical and Electronics/Telecommunications Engineering or Equivalent qualification, Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Electronic/Telecommunications Engineering. Member of EIZ with valid ERB license with a Minimum of 8 years senior technical management experience in the telecommunications industry. Proven expertise in running technical departments, building telecommunications infrastructure, proven record of strategic planning of network expansion, maintenance and operation with high availability. Proven experience of dealing with national regulators, dealing with big contracts and outside vendors.
Experience and Competence: He/she should have extensive technical knowledge in telecommunication systems design, implementation and maintenance; Good knowledge of Mobile Operators and Internet Service Providers’ telecommunications solution needs; Applies broader knowledge of standards to work assignments, Critical understanding of the current telecommunication trends and future solutions, able to coordinate the formulation of capital budgets for the acquisition, construction, installation and operation of tower sites including power solutions; Extensive understanding of optical fibre technology and all underpinning fundamentals and good practices, Fully proficient with Power Infrastructure Management systems and variety of power solutions for telecommunication towers; Excellent team management skills. Strength in development of subordinates and advancement of teamwork; Strength in quality, ensuring high availability of telecom systems; Strength in formulation and enforcing policies and standards with high service delivery trends, offer technical advice to the CEO; Contribute in the formulation and implementation of INFRATEL strategic goals; High honesty, integrity, and confidentiality; He/she should be Innovative and driven to finding new technologies and solutions for INFRATEL.
