Supported by historical modelling, this position empowers proactive decision-making. Leveraging advanced analytics tools, it creates dynamic dashboards that offer senior leadership immediate insights for strategic choices. The role maximises the potential of data systems to elevate operations and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, it plays a pivotal role in ensuring aligned data strategies across the Enterprise business, overseeing the Analyst, Data and Value Chain position.

  • Integrate operational data with financial perspectives to derive actionable insights. Ensure alignment between mining metrics and fiscal objectives, facilitating value chain optimisation.
  • Lead the development of real-time, interactive dashboards that consolidate mining metrics and financial insights. Equip senior leadership with comprehensive overviews for informed, strategic decision-making.
  • Act as a liaison between mining operations and finance teams, advocating for strategies that resonate with both operational realities and economic implications.
  • Apply mining-specific analytical methodologies to assess operational risks, weighing them against financial consequences and potential returns.
  • Analyse the value chain to identify optimal resource allocations, balancing operational needs with financial prudence.
  • Leverage advanced analytics to propose improvements in mining processes and drive data-informed continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mining analytics, optimisation techniques, and cross-industry best practices to maintain the organisation’s innovative edge.
  • Uphold the integrity of the centralised data repository as the single source of truth. Foster a collaborative environment to support precise decision-making and teamwork.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the Analyst, Data and Value Chain, aligning their efforts with broader business goals and the unique requirements of mining analytics.

Job Specific Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of mining operations, financial intricacies, and the mining value chain to drive informed decisions.
  • Expertise in merging data across departments into a centralised repository, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in designing interactive dashboards, offering a holistic overview, and leveraging historical data for predictive insights.
  • Competence in fostering a cohesive team environment, overseeing reporting roles, and ensuring alignment in strategies and tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify process gaps, equipment bottlenecks, and implement solutions.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.

Key Job Attributes:

  • Skilled in managing relationships, balancing assertiveness, and cooperation to ensure harmony and alignment with various stakeholders.
  • Utilises a structured approach to align tasks with overarching objectives, ensuring that every action taken has a strategic intent.
  • Always in pursuit of the “why” behind the data, embracing new and evolving analytical techniques to draw out hidden insights.
  • Demonstrates tenacity and commitment even when faced with challenges, always seeking out solutions and driving towards results.

Experience required:
