Job Title: Enterprise Development Specialist

About the role
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Enterprise Development Specialist to join our team in Lower Zambezi. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our Enterprise Development on the Fisheries Management Programme, which aims to enhance the co-management of the Lower Zambezi fishery by facilitating conservation agreements among stakeholders, and promoting nature-friendly community enterprises for alternative livelihoods.
Key responsibilities
- Support development of Conservation Agreements and ensure all parties abide by the terms of such agreements.
- Development of business enterprise using Conservation Agreements model in the lower Zambezi.
- Promote community diversification of sources of income model through nature friendly enterprises.
- Develop a community-based business enterprises that attract affordable capital needed at various stages along their growth trajectory.
- Equip communities to become strong business partners for the private sector and other actors in the local economy.
- Support market linkage and access for communities.
- Ad-hoc project responsibilities including but not limited to – financial management and administration, report writing, workplan development etc.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification (post graduate degree preferred) in agribusiness, entrepreneurship, environmental science, or related field,
- Five years’ experience of enterprise development, programing, and management,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience and good knowledge of Zambia’s socio-economic nature friendly enterprise. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of conservation issues in Zambia.
