Job Description

Sheladia Associates, Inc. is soliciting interest from a professional Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Manager to join an upcoming U.S. Government funded project addressing key constraints around agriculture and agro-processing in Southern Africa. Part of this project includes a component around improving roads to decrease transportation costs along select agricultural corridors. The expected scope of work will include feasibility and detailed design. This activity seeks to improve the access, quality, and climate resilience of prioritized roads within prioritized agricultural corridors. This project aims to ensure road durability, connect more farmers to markets, and increase climate resilience in the road sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental or social science or other relevant discipline.

• 10 years’ post qualification experience.

• 10 years’ participation in ESIA and ESMP preparation for infrastructure development projects in sub-Sahara Africa in compliance with IFC or similar international performance standards.

• Team leader, working within an integrated multi-disciplinary team for ESIA and ESMP preparation for two infrastructure projects in sub-Sahara Africa funded by MCC or a similar international organization.

• Fluent in English.
