Women’s Entrepreneurship Access Center (WEAC)

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Finance and Accounting Officer to join our team!

Position Overview: The Finance and Accounting Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, managing financial transactions, and supporting various financial activities within our organization.

The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in finance and accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.


 Financial Record Keeping and Reporting:

 Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and expense reports.

 Prepare regular financial statements, reports, and analyses for management review.

 Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.

 Transaction Processing:

 Process and reconcile invoices, payments, and receipts promptly and accurately.

 Verify and post transactions to appropriate accounts, ensuring proper classification and coding.

 Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring accurate calculations and timely


 Budgeting and Forecasting:

 Collaborate with the finance team to develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and forecasts.

 Provide insights and recommendations to support informed financial decision-making.

 Financial Analysis

 Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.

 Assist in the preparation of financial models, projections, and scenarios.

Compliance and Audit Support:

 Assist in the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits.

 Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax filings.

 Process Improvement:

 Identify opportunities for process enhancements to streamline financial operations and enhance


 Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices within the finance and

accounting function.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

 Work closely with other departments to gather financial data, provide insights, and support

their financial needs.

 Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies, answer financial queries, and ensure

accurate reporting.


 Professional certification ACCA, CIMA, ZICA and or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related


 Proven experience (Minimum 3 X years) in finance and accounting roles, demonstrating a solid understanding of financial principles and practices.

 Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Pastel and MS Office suite (particularly Excel).

 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritizes workload, and meets deadlines.

 Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

 Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations.

 Experience with process improvement initiatives is preferred.

 High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
