Position Summary:

As an Intermediate Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and transactions. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and reconciling various accounts, processing invoices, preparing financial reports, and assisting in the overall financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of financial data into the accounting system.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes for the preparation of financial statements.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and review expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting various tax filings and compliance documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
  • Assist in the implementation and improvement of financial processes and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and accounting best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant bookkeeping experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, MYOB, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills to resolve discrepancies and variances.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
  • Experience with tax preparation and compliance is a plus but not required
