The key responsibilities for this role include but not limited to the following:
- Ensures optimal performance of all MTN Mobile Money platforms, integrations with third parties and in-house developed applications;
- Ensures maximum Service Availability of all MTN Mobile Money products and services through effective management of IT Operations staff, Vendor and Partner resources;
- Ensures effective, optimal service operations through scheduled maintenance, service request management, incident management, problem management, change management, patching and upgrades, backups and restoration;
- Drives the optimization of the MTN MoMo platforms through continuous improvement of implementation existing implementations;
- Supports the System Architecture and Product Owner functions through review and critique of proposed solutions, enhancements or service evolution;
- Supports the Product, Finance and Revenue Assurance functions in identifying the cause of and correcting financial anomalies;
- Escalates systemic limitations or design flaws internally and to Group Technology, to ensure the resolution across all MTN Mobile Money Operations;
- Ensure adherence to the Group Technology strategy and assist in the creation of the OpCo tactical plan, in line with the business goals;
- Performs vendor governance through valuation of performance against contractual obligations (e.g. SLA’s). Regularly meets and engages vendors to ensure their output meets MTN Mobile Money expectations;
- Designs ensures the approval of and implement Processes and Standard Operating Procedures relating to Technology Operations;
- Provides career development support for direct reports (counselling, coaching, identifying key performance areas, career planning, and goal setting), in collaboration with the Chief Information Officer and Human Resources.
Candidate Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate with 5 credit or better of which English and Mathematics are a must;
- 4-year degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field;
- Service Management certification in ITIL v4 or COBIT 5 is an added advantage;
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar position with at least 2 years in a managerial role;
- Member of ICTAZ and experience in Fintech, Banking or Financial Services is preferred;
- Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise and ability to work with diverse cultures.
