Duties/Responsibilities;
- Cleaning guestrooms mid-stay and after departure
- Making beds as per Lodge Standard
- Inspect and turn mattresses regularly.
- Cleaning corridors, lobbies as well as stairways.
- Replacing dirty linens and towels
- Restocking guest room amenities like toiletries, drinking glasses etc.
- Removing garbage, recycling, and room service trays
- Picking up and returning valet laundry items
- Organizing and stocking housekeeping carts
- Notifying the maintenance department about broken appliances, glasses, old light bulbs, or damage
- Upholding the Lodge’s confidentiality and security standards
- Respecting “do not disturb” signs and the guest’s privacy
- Check all appliances in rooms are in working order
- Realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout
- Respond to guest queries and requests
- Respond to calls for housekeeping problems such as spills, broken glasses
- Deliver any requested housekeeping items to guest rooms
- Remove room service items
- Observe and report damage of Lodge property
Knowledge and Experience
- Grade twelve school certificate
- Certificate/ Diploma in General hospitality
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods
- Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials
- Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment
- Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend
- Ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 30lbs)
