Description

Job Overview:

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This key role provides visionary and strategic leadership to the Human Resource & Occupational Health Department. The role facilitates business planning, strategic planning, restructuring, organization development interventions, modelling, and branding of corporate culture to reposition the company in the dynamic and competitive business environment. It supports a professional team of Heads of Departments across the plant in areas of manpower planning, recruitment & selection, compensation, employee relations, training & development, talent management, occupational health, staff welfare and corporate social responsibility. The role ensures that human resource & occupational health services are provided within budget and are strictly compliant to relevant statutory regulations to prevent business risks.

Accountabilities/Tasks

  • Establishment control
  • Conducts recruitments.
  • Implementation of conditions of service
  • Implementation of disciplinary code & grievance procedure
  • Provision of health services
  • Provision of canteen services
  • Staff membership to statutory regulatory bodies (ZICA, EIZ, ZIPS, ZIHRM, HPCZ etc.)
  • Facilitate transportation of employees
  • Reduction of over-time
  • Departmental budget management
  • Provision of work procedures (SOP)
  • Availability of job descriptions
  • Establish effective communication channels.
  • Capacity building
  • Upgrade & multi-skilling of employees.
  • Evaluate training conducted.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 certificate with credits or better, including Mathematics and English.
  • Degree or Equivalent in Human Resource Management
  • Master’s degree in business administration or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • Valid Membership to the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in Human Resource and Administration
  • Experience in dealing with issues related to compliance with employment laws.
  • Experience in implementing significant change management processes.
  • Experience with Union-Management negotiations.
  • High emotional intelligence
