The Mulungushi International Conference Centre Limited (MICCL) a member of the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) group of companies invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced applicants for the following positions.
1. JOB TITLE: HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST (1)
Reports to the Human Resource Manager
JOB PURPOSE
Ensure Human Resource functions are managed efficiently and effectively through the development and implementation of Human Resource policies and procedures and the preparation of Human Resource Reports.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare draft advertisements to ensure MICCL attracts competent candidates to apply for vacant roles
- Assist in the development of interview tools for MICCL to ensure interviews are conducted in a structured and objective way to support the identification of candidates with required competencies.
- Provides secretarial services in interviews and meetings to ensure critical information is well captured.
- Prepares interview reports in a timely manner, and in line with the quality standards set to ensure the information on the candidates picked is well captured and presented for decision-making purposes.
- Communicates to both successful and unsuccessful candidates promptly, and in line with the recruitment standards and procedures, to maintain a good image of the MICCL brand.
- Conducts Pre and Post employment screening on candidates shortlisted, in line with the MICCL recruitment policy and procedure, to ensure the candidates identified are well-suited and do not present any risk.
- Handle the employee onboarding documentation and orientation programsInitiates drafting of contracts for new staff and ensures that the signing is timely and done in line with the MICCL HR policies and procedures
- Updates and reviews employee data in the system and in the manual records, to ensure the records are accurate and complete at all times to assist in timely decision-making.
- Provides user administrative support for the HRIS modules to both HR users and staff, to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of service.
- Assists in monitoring the HRIS functionality to ensure information is backed up as scheduled to protect employee data.
- Provides information and advice to staff on the HR policies and conditions of service, to ensure full compliance with the policies, and to ensure employees benefit fully from the conditions of service.
- Prepares monthly reports on employee exits and those joining MICCL.
- Implementation of the agreed-on course of action promptly.
- Coordinates the exit management process for all exiting staff in liaison with the Head of Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade twelve school certificate with five (5) Credits or better including English and Mathematics
- Degree in Human Resources Management, Social Science or equivalent.
- Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management (ZIHRM) with a valid Practicing Certificate

EXPERIENCE
- Not less than four (4) years of HR generalist experience in an organization of similar size
