As part of our expansion plan, we are inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced, ambitious, self-motivated individuals to apply for the position of HR Intern. This is an internship position with possibility of retaining the candidate full time after 6 months.

About the job:
We are looking for a vibrant young and dynamic Intern to join our team. The Human Resource Intern will help in leading the strategies and processes related to building and retaining an exceptional team of employees in alignment with the business strategy and goals of the organization. The Human Resource intern, will be an organizational and cultural force who charts the path of how the company should be organized, grow and scale.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Description

SUMMARY
Human Resources Intern will focus on assisting Human Resources department in different aspects including Performance Management, Disciplinary process, staff training and Development, Recruitment and Selection and exit management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. The supervisor may assign other duties from time to time

DISCIPLINARY PROCESS MANAGEMENT

Review charges received from Complainant
Prepare disciplinary hearing notification letter
Prepare traveling payment to staff and ensure are paid before traveling(if any)
Organize Disciplinary Hearing meeting

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

Filing performance management documents
Organize Performance review Meetings
Prepare performance review notification letters
Prepare traveling payment to staff and ensure are paid before traveling(if any)

STAFF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Coordinate online training and update online completion report into the subsidiary’s quarterly training report template
Coordinate Classroom training

RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION

Follow-up Reference check
Follow up finger print vetting
Organize interviews
Filing of all staff documents

LEAVE MANAGEMENT

Collect leave rosters from Head of Departments and Branch Managers

EXIT MANAGEMENT

Follow-up clearance forms and system deactivation forms from Line Managers
Clearance form circulated to all respective people for sign-off

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor Degree in Labor Relations
Practical experience in organizing and conducting disciplinary hearing, Performance Management

Proficient in MS Office a must

Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
Knowledge of HR systems and databases
In-depth understanding of office management procedures and departmental and legal policies
Familiarity with financial and facilities management principles
An analytical mind with problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all company levels.
Knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
Must be a Member of the Human Resource Institute of Zambia
