Mission
To secure Epiroc Zambia Human Resources functions to ensure that we are the first choice for existing and potential employees.
To also secure that we comply with statutory and legal requirements, develop and implement policies, procedures and standards in line with The Epiroc Way and support the GM, BLMs, BDMs, BCs, LM and rest of the organization in terms of people management, non-core purchasing, facilities maintenance, SHEQ and general administration while safe guarding our Core Values.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the company to build and maintain a professional, competent, dedicated and effective organization, which shall meet present and future needs – provide leadership in employment practices: recruitment, orientation, professional development, promotions, transfers and terminations.
- Support line managers in selecting the best people for the job, and provide the new employees with a smooth induction experience, proactively communicating with other departments to ensure that relevant processes are completed pro-actively to enable them be productive upon starting their appointments.
- Lead the HR and Admin functions to ensure that People Management processes are in place in accordance with ‘The Epiroc Way’ and ‘Employee Handbook’, and IMS ZMB, paying due attention to the relevant labour legislation and organisational requirements.
- Work closely with Line Managers, Finance Department and Country Manager to ensure integrity of our compensation and payroll including calculation and payment of overtime, allowances and variable compensation.
- Work closely and assist Line Managers and Contract Managers in formulation of working rooster to ensure compliance with Labour Law, while optimising efficiency.
- Maintain an effective mechanism for procurement of work permits, and/or special passes as may apply, to ensure that these are processed in a proactive, timely and efficient manner.
- Work to ensure that Epiroc Zambia fulfils Group set KPIs in People Development areas, including training and competence development, appraisals, staff mobility, safety and accident prevention, reporting lines, departments, allocation keys, etc are updated within 1OR, and that this process is carried out effectively every month or quarter as per Group reporting procedures.
- Operationalize use of HRLINK and other platforms in line with ‘The Epiroc Way’, ensuring that appraisals, missions etc are posted in the database and updated as needed.
- Effective management of employee benefits, including health insurances, leave travel approvals, air tickets, housing and related issues.
- Ensure integrity, maintenance and confidentiality of all personnel records in accordance with Group policies and procedures and applicable laws.
- Safeguard and ensure that everyone in the organisation respects and lives up to the core values of Epiroc and Epiroc Code of Conduct.
- Oversee the purchase function within the organisation, ensuring that we procure genuine products and services, transparently, competitively and in line with guidelines in ZMB IMS and ‘The Epiroc Way’ policies.
- Oversee other general administrative functions in the company to allow the Line Managers to concentrate on their core responsibilities.
Required Skills and Capabilities
- Minimum 8 Years in HRM position, at a medium size company as a minimum.
- Knowledge of Zambia Labour Law is essential
- Previous experience in a management role in HRM.
- Prior experience Dealing with a staff complement of above 200 employees
- Good Leadership skills and Competence Development Skills.
- Has good Strategy formulation skills.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in HRM or related field.
- An Honors/Master’s degree would be an added advantage.
