Job Title: ICT Coordinator
Reports to: Program Support Manager/SSFP
Type of contract: Fixed Term
JOB SUMMARY
The ICT Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the mission’s ICT systems (hardware and software) support the overall performance of the organization. The role shall lead in Organizing and implementing ICT function; minimizing communication and information management disruptions by ensuring the ICT department is responsive in a timely and appropriate manner; effectively maximizing the efficiency of communication and information management and ensuring high standards of ICT technical support; participates in and contributes to corporate planning exercises and provides professional, technical and operational advice and recommendations in the ICT area.
S/he shall provide timely and appropriate technical support, in response towards maintaining the overall performance and quality standards of the mission’s communication and information management system, support and safeguard the organization’s electronic data (historical and current) against loss, damage, misuse and appropriately achieved as a contribution in enhancing the achievement of CARE Zambia’s development objectives
Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Applies Information and Communication Technology and other related specialized theories, principles, methods and systems to assignments in CARE Zambia’s ICT function
- Carries out reasoned troubleshooting and investigations and generates authoritative output in ICT support, user training, and knowledge transfer.
- To ensure that all CARE data is backed up to the cloud (existing and exiting staff) and handle staff IT separation process.
- To conduct all hardware and software configurations and network Security including managing antivirus & anti spam, repairing assigned ICT equipment that supports organizational communications criteria in responding to management needs meeting any legal, regulatory, or fiduciary obligations.
- Assists CARE Zambia’s managers and all other internal clients and users with the interpretation and practical application of technological and telecommunication tools, networking, and internetworking systems and policies;
- Investigates resultant problems and issues and works with the IT officer/team to come up with solutions and transfer knowledge.
- Provide troubleshooting on all CO computer hardware and software with an emphasis on avoiding prevalent imminent failures;
- Organize day-to-day activities and manage own time to meet deadlines and priorities; maintain “to do” lists and detailed work schedules
- Obtains and shares information and generally stays informed about areas of mutual interest and collaborates with the regional service Centre in identifying the CO’s IT needs.
- Demonstrates ongoing proficiency in ICT management support through continuous learning and provision of reliable output;
- Work with Administration to ensure that all staff have access to internet and required tools (MiFi’s or external gadgets). Ensure all tools are accounted for and tagged.
- Networks with other NGOs and service providers in maintaining “best practices” mindset and looks for opportunities to implement improvements in ICT.
- Puts together and implements a monthly individual performance plan; takes part in functional planning exercises and contributes vision and ground-level perspective to planning in area of information and telecommunication technology.
- Receive all stock, generate GRNs in the system, and submit invoices for PO-based transactions to the procurement unit for payment facilitation.
- Perform any other task as may be requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science/Information management systems from a recognized University or College
- Cisco certification is an added advantage.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of work experience in a relevant field or role with similar responsibilities.
- Experience working in NGOs is an added advantage
