ICT Officer at Zambia Metrology Agency

The Zambia Metrology Agency (ZMA), a statutory body under the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, is inviting applications from suitably qualified and interested candidates to fill the following vacant position of ICT Officer. The requirements are stipulated below.

POSITION: ICT OFFICER (1)

JOB PURPOSE: To supervise and undertake the acquisition, Installation, maintenance, and review of the ICT systems to ensure system availability and security.

KEY RESULT AREA

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN DUTIES)

Hardware

Supervises and undertakes the installation and maintenance of various ICTs hardware in order to ensure smooth operation.

 

 

Software

Supervises and undertakes the installation, customisation, adaptation, and upgrading of software in order to meet end-user requirements and smooth conduct of business

Networking Administration

Supervises and undertakes the installation and administration of the agency’s ICT networks in order to manage user access and ensure connectivity

Database Administration

Supervises and undertakes the maintenance of the agency’s database in order to facilitate the storage, retrieval, and processing of information.

Troubleshooting

Supervises and undertakes troubleshooting for all ICT systems in order to resolve end users’ problems.

Web Master

Supervises and undertakes regularly the updating and review of the website content in order to provide information and facilitate interaction with the public.

Technical Support Management

Supervises and undertakes the provision of technical specifications to end users to facilitate the procurement of ICT, Software, and hardware.

Manages effectively, Human, Financial, and other resources in order to ensure the achievement of departmental objectives.

Performance Management

Manages the implementation of performance management systems in the department in order to monitor and evaluate individual and departmental performance.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Full Form 5/ Grade 12 certificate
• Degree in Computer Science
• 5 years of field experience;
• 2 years at Supervisory level
• Able to write technical reports.
• Able to communicate effectively in English.

Other Attributes:

• Good Human relations
• Familiarity with PHP+MySQL, JAVA
