Description

We are looking for a skilled Inclusive Education Leadership and Support Specialist to guide the development of training materials designed to strengthen institutional leadership in supporting teachers to implement inclusive education practices. Additionally, the specialist will deliver targeted training for education officers, equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary to coach and guide institutional administrators in their efforts. This includes supporting inclusive pedagogical leadership, as well as building capacity in assessing and monitoring the progress of learners with special educational needs.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in inclusive education systems, adult learning methodologies, and institutional capacity building. They will have a passion for educational equity and a proven ability to design and deliver practical support tools and scalable training solutions.

Requirements

Candidates should preferably meet all the criteria listed below, however those meeting most criteria are also invited to apply.

  • Master’s degree in education, special/inclusive education, education policy or a related field
  • At least 5 years’ experience in teaching, school leadership and/or teacher education, some of which should specifically be involvement in inclusive and special needs education
  • At least two years’ experience in developing, conducting and assessing training of trainers
  • Experience in implementing school management practices that support inclusive education and/or teacher support strategies
  • Knowledge of screening and assessment tools for children with special needs.
  • Experience on integration of green skills (knowledge, abilities, values, and attitudes needed to live in, develop, and support a sustainable and resource-efficient society)
  • Knowledge and experience of the Zambian education system as well as education systems in other African countries
Benefits

Remuneration to be discussed, dependent on qualifications and experience.

Travel costs will be covered, including: local travel expenses as needed and one international round trip (if required).

The contract duration is 35-50 working days over 4 months. International candidates will need to spend approximately 50% of the working days in Zambia.
