INTERN COOKS (02)

JOB PURPOSE

To cook meals, serve food, processing customer orders, produce meals, clean workplace and Kitchen utensils, adhere to established Kitchen health and safety guidelines.

Principal Accountabilities (Main Duties)

  • Cooking and preparing food for clients
  • Serving meals to clients in the institution
  • Preparing meals for customers on time making sure that food items are always fresh before serving
  • Maintaining a clean kitchen station and work area and making sure the utensils and kitchen equipment are left clean after each use
  • Working with other kitchen staff to ensure consistent and high-quality food service
  • Resolving issues related to food orders or customer complaints efficiently
  • Having knowledge about the daily menu and accommodating dietary requests
  • Arranging, garnishing, and plating dishes to a high standard
  • Checking food before it is given to the wait staff to serve to clients
  • Being involved in planning menus
  • Working in compliance with food safety regulations and processes
  • Keeping a stock inventory record

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate with 5 credits or better including Mathematics and English.
  • Certificate in food Production
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Member of ZIPS or CIPS
  • Thorough knowledge menu Preparation and Kitchen operations
  • Proficiency in Inventory Management Systems will be an added advantage.
