Internal Accountant at Mukuba Pension Trust

Overview of the Job
The role of the Internal Auditor is to provide assurance that the Trust’s risk management, governance, and internal control processes are operating effectively. The Internal Auditor will objectively enhance the Trust’s business practices.

Duties and Accountabilities
The duties and accountabilities shall include the following;
1. Development of a robust audit programme ensuring that all high-risk areas are adequately covered and prioritised.
2. Undertaking reviews of invoices, contracts, purchase orders, payment vouchers and other requests for funds to substantiate a transaction or series of transactions before they are finalised.
3. Conducting internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of financial controls, risk management systems and operational processes.
4. Assessing and ensuring the Trust’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations and Trust policies.
5. Providing management with accurate and timely reports on financial audit findings, including recommendations for improvement.
6. Giving independent and objective assessments of the Trust’s operations, financial statements and internal controls.
7. Proposing recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and identifying other areas of improvement.
8. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk management strategies.

Qualifications and experience
1 Grade 12 Certificate
2 Full ZICA, CIMA, ACCA or Degree in accounting/finance
3 Minimum of three (3) years of practical experience in a similar role or as an External Auditor
4 Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants
