Workers' Compensation Fund Control Board

The Workers’ Compensation Fund Control Board (WCFCB) is a social security scheme responsible for compensating workers in respect of accidents suffered and diseases contracted during the course of employment in accordance with the provisions of the Workers’ Compensation Act No. 10 of 1999 of the Laws of Zambia.

The Workers’ Compensation Fund Control Board invites applications from suitably qualified Zambian citizens to fill the following vacant positions.

3. INVESTMENT ANALYST (2)

A. JOB PURPOSE

Conduct in-depth research, analysing markets and financial data to provide insights on investment opportunities and market trends and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The role also involves validating investment transactions, monitoring asset performance, and optimizing returns through effective portfolio management.

B. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts due diligence on the Markets and Investment opportunities by researching, analyzing financial statements and market data and producing reports thereon;
  • Analyses financial information relating to specific companies, e.g. company results, profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements to determine how an organisation is positioned to deliver for investors;.
  • Keeps up to date with market developments, new investment products and all other areas that can affect the markets, e.g. movements in the economies of relevant countries;
  • Conducts ad-hoc research based on specific investment opportunities that may come onto the market;
  • Advises on the maturity profiles of the investments;.
  • Monitors and reports on weekly, monthly and quarterly bases the performance and position of the Assets under Management;
  • Updates the system on a daily basis with the investment transactions;
  • Maintains track of expected investment income and makes follow ups to ensure its receipt, and reconciles the information with the Finance Department;
  • Ensures all documentation pertaining to investments is filed and is up to date;.
  • Carries out any other duties incidental to the functional objectives as may be directed from time to time.

C. JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Full Grade twelve (12) certificate or GCE ‘O’ level certificate with at least five (5) credits or better.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Investments, or a related field
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, CAIA, CTP, FRM and CISI are an added advantage.
  • Not less than 3 years of experience in investment management, treasury, or financial analysis in an organisation of similar size of operations.
