Chilanga Cement, Ndola Plant, is looking to recruit dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic and qualified individuals to take up the roles of;

ISSUING ASSISTANT (X1)

Overall, Mission of the Role:

The candidate will execute movement of materials throughout Supply chain points and updated the ERP system on real time basis in accordance with stores process procedure STO-PRO-P014.

  • Ensure all issued materials and parts have duly authorised material requisitions in line with stores issuing procedure.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in the right and acceptable condition in line with government regulations and Chilanga safety standards.
  • Ensure load does not exceed advised truck tare weight
  • Ensure vehicle is roadworthy at all time
  • Daily checking and collecting of fast moving items like welding gases etc. covered on call off orders.
  • Responsible for protecting and preserving materials from damage, theft and deterioration while in transit/custody
  • Ensuring that ordered items are collected from the right vendors whom the order is addressed to.
  • Physical movement of materials to and from different points in the supply chain as well as associated information.
  • Prompt reporting of damages to supervisor
  • Report reasons for non-collection of materials to supervisor.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications, Experience and skills required:

  • Grade 12 with 5 ‘O’ levels
  • Purchasing and supply certificate level 1 or 2
  • Holds a valid clean driving license
  • Must be a registered member of the relevant professional body.

Technical skills

  • Knowledge of safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to operate a computer
  • Ability to drive and operate forklift equipment
  • Basic knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical components and spares
  • Experience in the Mining Industry is an added advantage
  • Ability to resolve queries in a timely manner
