Qualifications

The Lake Logistics Supervisor Must Have:

  • Comfortable working on the lake. Aquaculture knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge about logistics and distribution, Computer skills in Excel.
  • Communication, Training & coaching, Analytical & Problem Solving, Interpersonal Skills

Qualifications Requirements for the Feeding Supervisor are:

  • Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
  • Degree in procurement and Logistics or its equivalent.
  •  Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in logistics and distribution
  •  Knowledge about dry products storage is desired.
  • Experience working on the lake is an added advantage.

Lake Logistics Supervisor

The Right Fit candidate will:

  • Debrief the Superintendent of any challenges observed during and after operations.
  •  Ensuring the team is well disciplined with off days, schedules and leave planned accordingly.
  • Coordinate with Feeding, Net Deployment, sampling, counting, mortality collectors, harvesters, feed distributors, fish transfers, divers, cage maintenance and feed loading and all superiors to have a smoothly running process.
  • Ensure that the team adheres to biosecurity protocol and standards.
  • Responsible for teams’ safety and wellbeing while on the Lake
  • Report all accidents and incidents to OHS and line manager.
  • Ensure that Yalelo policies and procedures are always observed and adhered to by team members.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Line manager.
  • Ensure maximum team productivity and efficiency through limiting damages. Oversee the coxswains and vessels/boats.
  • Ensure that safety talks (pre-start meetings) are conducted before boarding the boat.  ensure that Coxswain have the ‘kill switch’ attached to his/her body (at the wrist), before he may start the engine.
  • Ensure to schedule a boat/vessel plan according to the to the daily operations. Conducting maintenance schedules with engineering.
  • Ensure that only competent and trained Coxswains operate the vessels.
  • Ensure that all vessels are always in safe working conditions and report any defects to the Engineering team.
  •  Preventing/ Shall not allow damaged or unsafe boat/ vessel to be used for either transporting personnel, feed or equipment.
