Job Description

Coca-Cola Beverages Zambia requires the services of a Maintenance Controller reporting into the Unit Production Manager, to ensure that lines are always available for production at the rated speed, perfect quality and minimal waste through optimum maintenance execution. The role will lead, coordinate, coach and manage the Machine Specialists ensuring the maintenance plans as established by the Maintenance Planners, are implemented effectively and efficiently to ensure maximum equipment availability.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Partake in the development of the asset care plan for the packaging plant, contributing suggestions and providing expert  advice.
Support the implementation of the asset care plan for the Packaging plant, ensuring the MAS’s, PA’s and operational teams  have the required technical competencies to execute the plan
Ensure that asset care competencies are developed in the Packaging Engineering team. Where training needs have been  identified, ensure these are addressed.
Responsible for the reliability and uptime of Packaging plant.
Ensure the execution of maintenance / extended maintenance work
Lead the Packaging Engineering team in the provision of asset care and engineering support to the shift-based production teams.
Take part in maintenance problem solving and ensure that the Packaging Engineering team is applying the correct problemsolving techniques.
Ensure that Technical gaps are closed within budget
Develop and control maintenance cost plans and CAPEX
Ensure that the team members apply proper safety and housekeeping procedures, and adhere to all legal requirements  when carrying out their tasks.
Ensure adherence to the appropriate CCBA and legislative policies (such as OSH act) on safety and housekeeping.

Skills, Experience & Education

Grade 12, O level with 5 credits or better.
Minimum: Diploma in Engineering Qualification Mechanical/Electrical or equivalent from a reputable institution
Ideal: 5 years of experience in maintenance of packaging equipment in an FMCG
Experience in implementation of Manufacturing best practices such Asset Care and Focused Improvement is a requirement
Broad based engineering and packaging knowledge as applicable in CCBZ
Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
2 years minimum experience as a Maintenance Controller or Maintenance Planner
Paid up member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
