Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ)

Reports to Assistant Facilities Manager-Works & Maintenance. The incumbent will perform a wide variety of plumbing, and repair functions related to the care and maintenance of sewer treatment plant and all plumbing services plus general maintenance in all CIDRZ premises.

Main duties

  • Performs a wide variety of general facilities maintenance repairs and services.
  • Installs plumbing systems and does plumbing maintenance.
    Involved in general maintenance activities around CIDRZ facilities
  • Repairs and relocates plumbing fittings
  • Replaces wash basins, faucets and seals on plumbing equipment; repair leaky faucets and clean clogged drains; install and repair sprinklers
  • Maintains monthly inspection and maintenance of facilities plumbing installations
  • Assists in stocking, unloading and delivery of building supplies
  • Cleans and maintains equipment’s for the safety of staff and the maintenance of facilities
  • Completes paperwork to document work completed.
  • Liaises with service providers for sewer treatment plant, plumbing services, and water firefighting equipment to ensure prompt service delivery
  • Provides the Assistant Manager -Works & Maintenance with weekly reports on work carried out.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Minimum of a technician certificate in plumbing, additional qualifications in building services will be an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years relevant experience in a reputable Organization
  • Must be to work with minimum supervision
    must be detail-minded with brilliant multi-tasking skills
  • Computer proficiency will be an added advantage.
