Job Summary:
We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills. The Management Accountant will be responsible for providing financial analysis and reporting to support the decision-making process of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Budget preparation and forecasting.
- Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Maintain and update financial models to track performance against budget and forecast.
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Tax administration (Income tax, QPDs, VAT, WHT)
- Exchange control administration (Liquidations, TRAS 1, acquittals, service agreements)
- Treasury management (cashflow forecasting, bank reconciliations, identification of funding gaps, timely payment of suppliers)
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Preparation of IFRS compliant annual financial statements.
- Year end audit administration (stock counts, asset verifications, liaising with external auditors).
- Training and supervision of junior accounting team members.
- Preparation of ad hoc financial reports as requested by management
Qualification and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional certification preferred (CIMA, ACCA, AA(Z), ZICA).
- 2+ years of experience in financial accounting or management accounting.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP, financial principles and practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience in financial modelling.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Numeracy and strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
