Manager – Strategic Channel Development
Mission/ Core purpose of the Job:
Provide strategic direction to grow electronic talk time channel, data penetration and smartphone revenue through consolidation of existing Channel focus for the rapid development of new channels, in especially device, data and digital focused areas of the business.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the rapid roll out and development of Company channel plans for rapid growth of electronic airtime penetration, data penetration and driving smartphone revenue in the market (Banks, Device shops, Malls/Supermarkets, Terminals (Air, Bus) and HORECA;
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure “dominate Telco Markets” for effective partnerships and development of Channel distribution partners to capture all relevant channel opportunities in the regions;
- Facilitate the provision and regular availability of channel products and services for effective team operations/activations;
- Lead annual budgetary plans for channel operations in the assigned regions;
- Recruit, train, develop and coordinate Channel resources to ensure achievement of Channel sales development targets;
- Manage the execution of Channel plans and ensure Brand standards for Channels are adhered to;
- Provide Channel and Shopper thought leadership for implementation of channel plans;
- Build and maintain regular contacts with key channels to build stronger relationships;
- Develops and executes joint promotional campaigns with convenience channel partners.
Candidate Requirements
- University Degree in Business / Marketing or Sales. MBA is an added advantage;
- Minimum of three (5) years of work experience with at least two (3) at Supervisory level, in frontline environment;
- Grade 12 Certificate. (5 O’ Level credits, including compulsorily English Language and Mathematics);
- Strong knowledge of sales and relationship building skills.
- In-depth understanding of the Telecom business industry;
- Excellent experience in channel management;
- Excellent management of internal & external stakeholder relationships
- Ability to think through and come up with innovative ideas that improve data revenue growth.
- Demonstrated success in leading, managing, coaching, and motivating teams.
