Company Description

SNV is a global development partner, deeply rooted in the countries where we operate. We are driven by a vision of a better world: A world where across every society all people live with dignity and have equitable opportunities to thrive sustainably. We help strengthen institutions and effective governance, reduce gender inequalities and barriers to social inclusion, and enable adaptation and mitigation to the climate and biodiversity crises.
Building on 60 years of experience we support our partners with our technical and process expertise and methodological rigour. We do this in more than 20 countries in Africa and Asia with a team of approximately 1,600 colleagues. Overview of position:

SNV, in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), is implementing the Strengthening Resilience of Smallholder Households in Drought Prone Areas of Zambia (SRSHDPA) Project. The Project uses a market-based and climate-smart strategy to support smallholder farmers sustainably. Focusing on the targeted rural districts in Southern and Western provinces, the SNV-led SRSHDPA project objectives are to boost nutrient-dense food production via agricultural productivity and to increase the incomes of low-income households, especially those headed by women and young people. The project goal is to increase food security and economic resilience of smallholder households. The overall objective will be to enhance smallholders’ skills, access, participation, linkages, and support in agri-food markets to help households increase and diversify incomes, become more climate resilient, and increase food security and household nutrition.
