LEGAL AID BOARD
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Legal Aid Board (LAB) is a statutory body established under the Legal Aid Act chapter 34 of the Laws of Zambia. The Board is mandated to provide legal aid services to persons with inadequate means. The Board now seeks to appoint the following:
1. LEGAL AID COUNSEL – (KAOMA, LUNDAZI, MPOROKOSO, KAWAMBWA AND ZAMBEZI)
Job purpose:
To provide legal aid services in both criminal and civil matters to persons with inadequate means; which includes legal representation, legal assistance and legal advice.
Qualifications:
- LLB Degree
- An Advocate of the High Court
- Must be honest and of good integrity.
Newly admitted advocates or those with up to 2 years’experience are encouraged to apply
2. REGISTRY CLERK (KAOMA, LUNDAZI, MPOROKOSO, KAWAMBWA AND ZAMBEZI)
Job Purpose:
To maintain registry records and an efficient mailing system to foster timely and accurate flow of information
Qualifications
- Grade 12 school certificate with five (5) credits including Mathematics and English Certificate in Records Management
- An accounting knowledge will be an added advantage
- Ability to write reports, letters and memorandums
- Basic arithmetic
3. OFFICE ASSISTANT (KAOMA, LUNDAZI, MPOROKOSO, KAWAMBWA AND ZAMBEZI)
To clean offices and surroundings, photocopying, collect and to attend to files in offices to facilitate the smooth operations of the Board.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 GCE Certificate
- Be able to read so as to direct files and mail to right officers
