NATIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

ZAMEFA PLC is a listed and publicly-traded company on the Lusaka Securities Exchange (LUSE) whose primary business is the manufacture and supply of electric cables and associated products. In pursuance of its mission and strategic goals, the Company is now inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of:

1.0 NATIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

1.1 Job Purpose:

To deepen growth in the domestic market by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across Zambia and establishing enduring relationships with customers, partners, and other stakeholders.

1.2 Main Duties and Accountabilities of the Job Holder:

  • Developing new customers and markets in the targeted areas
  • Providing insightful, timely and well-syndicated domestic market analysis that clearly recommends next steps.
  • Ensuring excellent customer service through adequate and on time delivery of commitments and feedback
  • Achieving domestic sales growth targets as set from time to time in the Company’s sales budget.
  • Demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of products and value proposition
  • Building, motivating and retaining a strong team.
  • Developing appropriate systems and procedures to continually improve efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
  • Consistently demonstrating expected behaviours of a ZAMEFA employee, in line with the Company Values.
  • Performing any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the superior from time to time.

1.3 Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Degree in Sales/Marketing or Engineering discipline
  • Six (6) years post qualifying hands-on experience in a busy environment

1.4 Job-Specific Skills:

  • Managing a sales team.
  • Exposure to ERP environment, working knowledge of MS Word/Excel/Power Point.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English language.
  • Excellent negotiation & communication skills
  • Experience within the cable industry would be an added advantage.

1.5 Behavioral Competencies:

  • Confident and positive attitude
  • Enthusiastic with good inter-personal relationships both internally and externally
