·       Qualifications Requirements for the Feeding Supervisor are:

  • Grade 12 certificate,
  • Crafts Net deployer certificate preferred
  • 2-3 years’ experience in net removal.
  • 1-2 years’ experience deploying nets on fish cages on the lake
Job role

The Right Fit candidate will:

  • Be Responsible for daily and weekly planning for the net deployment team.
  • Ensure all nets are offloaded before a day before and placed on the allocated net place.
  • Ensure the dispatch to the lake before 08hrs.
  • Assign duties to the net deployment team ensuring effective teamwork.
  • Make fuel requisition for the net deployment boat a day before operations.
  • Identify the right material for use in net change and net deployment (net size, pulling ropes and twine).
  • Make requisitions for new nets, net mending materials and tools required
  • Oversee the net change, net deployment, Bagnet removal, scrap and frame change.
  • Ensure fish is not stressed during net change, bag net removal and scrap.
  • Oversee the loading and offloading of nets to and from the net deployment boat respectively.
  • Check the integrity of nets before deployment and net change.
  • Supervise the on-water net handling activities (net change, deployment, scrap, Bagnet removal and cage frame change)
  • Work with divers to inspect deployed nets and check for damage.
  • Ensure no fish escape during net change, bag net removal, frame change and scrap.
  • Ensure the grow out cage is well secured after frame change.
  • Ensure all cages are scraped on time without damaging the nets.
  •  Ensure that the team check holes when pulling the bag net, fix them and report to the supervisor and line manager.
  • Remove surface mortalities during net change, bag net removal and scrap.
  • Confirm the net change, frame change and bag net with the line manage
  • Ensure FIFO (First in First Out) principle for cage nets
