Job description:

Purpose

To execute the operations of the Concentrator in a safe and efficient manner

Key Responsibilities

This position will be required to adhere to all requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to safety, health, environment, and quality as well as finance, human resources and other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibility of the function.

The key responsibility shall be to:

• Ensure that all personnel and visitors to the section adhere to company safety regulations and requirements.
• Attend daily shift meetings.
• Ensure a proper shift handover when going on and off shift.
• Exhibit good understanding of the process plant equipment.
• Be familiar with plant and equipment start up and shutdown.
• Be actively involved in the shift production.
• Drive a maximum shift process equipment availability.
• Ensure meeting shift production targets.
• Ensure standard operation of process equipment.
• Monitor product quality and control.
• Ensure effective communication between all parties and maintain direct contact with the Shift. Supervisor and the Control Room Operator during the shift.
• Ensure timely and effective reporting of plant equipment defects.
• Ensure maintaining plant good housekeeping.
• Ensure elimination of downtimes due to plant equipment start up and shutdown delays.
• Observe instructions and adherence to procedures.
• Report all deviations to process operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a grade 12 certificate with Credits in English, Mathematics and / or Science
• Certificate in mineral processing or any other discipline is an added advantage

Experience

• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a Concentrator operations or related field or relevant qualification.
