Whispering Hope Private School

The Role holder is responsible for instructing and guiding students in the primary school level (typically ages 4-15) to acquire knowledge, skills, and a love for learning. The role involves creating a positive and engaging classroom environment, developing lesson plans, delivering instruction, assessing student performance, and fostering the intellectual, social, and emotional development of young learners.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Classroom Management:

– Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.

– Set clear expectations for student behavior and enforce consistent discipline strategies.

– Foster a safe and respectful atmosphere where students feel comfortable expressing themselves.

– Individualized Instruction and Differentiation:

– Identify and address individual student learning needs and differences.

– Modify instructional methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and interests.

– Provide additional support or challenge to students as required.

Parent and Guardian Communication:

– Establish effective lines of communication with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their child’s progress, achievements, and challenges.

– Conduct parent-teacher conferences and respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.

– Collaborate with parents to support student learning and development outside the classroom.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

– Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to align curriculum, share best practices, and promote a cohesive learning environment.

– Participate in professional development activities, workshops, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with educational trends.

Classroom Resources and Materials:

–  Select and utilize appropriate instructional materials, textbooks, technology, and resources to enhance student learning.

– Maintain an organized and stimulating classroom environment with age-appropriate materials and resources.

School and Community Engagement:

– Participate in school-wide events, committees, and extracurricular activities.

– Collaborate with community organizations and resources to enhance the educational experiences of students.

– Engage in continuous professional growth and contribute to the school’s overall development.

Qualifications, Skills, Proficiency, Experience and Exposure

– Diploma in Education or a related field (teaching certification or licensure may be required).

– Strong knowledge of the subject matter and curriculum for primary grades.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

– Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with young learners.

– Effective classroom management and behavior management skills.

– Adaptability and the ability to differentiate instruction based on individual student needs.
