We’re hiring for Production Planning Manager

As Production Planning Manager, who will be based in Lusaka, you will be responsible for leading plant operations at the Lusaka seed production site. Your main duty is to ensure that the company safely delivers against its seed delivery goals while complying and adhering to Occupational Health and Safety guidelines to avoid work-related injuries. Hence, the main goal will be to ensure a safe working environment, driving productivity and on-time delivery of quality product.

You Will Be Part of Growing Team

As a Production Planning Manager, you will drive a multi-disciplinary team of direct and indirect reports to achieve excellence in seed operations.

Your Challenge

 

  • Accountable to ensure adherence to Corteva, Statutory, regulatory environmental, safety and health requirements
  • Accountable for driving safety, quality and productivity activities at the seed production site
  • Leads improvement programs and initiatives for production, maintenance and/or other manufacturing service area. Provides leadership and direction for the seed production site
  • Ensure continuous and efficient production in desired quantity and quality, and/or effectively managing daily maintenance work and shutdowns.
  • Interface with business leadership and supply chain for coordination of schedules and understanding of customer needs.
  • Accountable for establishing and meeting fixed and variable cost objectives.
  • Setting expectations for adherence to policies and procedures and safety standards.
  • Managing production and/or maintenance areas and/or manufacturing services/functions.
  • Managing delivery, productivity, safety, quality, cost, resources, team morale and schedules.
  • Drive people engagement, people development initiatives and provide coaching
  • Ensure timely completion of approved capital projects and develop project proposals for future capital projects
  • Participate in special assignments and projects
  • Perform other duties assigned by line manager

As Production Planning Manager, you will report to the Production Lead for West, East, South-Central Africa and you be working with other cross-functional country and regional leaders not limited to the list below;

  • Regional & Country Seed Production and Supply Chain leadership team
  • Regional & Country Commercial leadership team
  • Seed Product development leadership team
  • Environmental, Health & Safety Consultants and leaders
  • Regional Emergency Response and Security team
  • Legal and Compliance team
  • Engineering, Continuous improvement, Strategic Sourcing, Commercial Finance and Controllership teams

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

  • Degree in Agricultural Sciences/Engineering or related field
  • Post-graduate qualification an added advantage
  • 7 years experience with 3 years management experience
  • Agricultural Institute of Zambia/Engineering Institute of Zambia membership or related accreditation
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with end to end Seed Science and Technology
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer aptitude including use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Demonstrated elite performance
